Issue
When you use the Dragon NaturallySpeaking Show Links command in traditional UI applications, collapsible headings appear as two interactive elements.
Symptoms and Impact
This misidentification causes confusion for users relying on Dragon screen readers or voice navigation.
Steps to reproduce
- Navigate to the screen or page containing collapsible header
- Activate Dragon voice recognition
- Read out the voice Command, Show links . Notice that the collapsible heading is identified as two separate interactive elements instead of one.
Root Cause
The issue occurs because of how the software interprets the presence of event handler attributes as being an indication of an interactive element.
As a result, Dragon interprets two elements as separate actionable targets and announces/numbers them independently during the Show Links operation, even though they visually represent a single collapsible control in the UI.
Solution
This is a known limitation while using Dragon NaturallySpeaking with Pega Platform. Users are still able to expand or collapse such headings as expected by activating highlighted element after speaking the command.
Note – This issue occurs only in section based UI and not in Constellation.
