Base application in application definition
Does anyone know the purpose of the 'Base application' field in the application definition? It seems to validate referencing of the selected application in the entire application stack (and returning an error if you try to save the application without having this application in the built-on stack), but I'm not sure if that is its only purpose. And the documentation seems to be missing (See: https://docs.pega.com/bundle/platform/page/platform/app-dev/configuring-advanced-app-settings.html).
And yes, my base application is conveniently called 'Base'. Because it's all about the base ;-)

I'm able to save the Application definition without the base application in 8.8.3 version.

@RameshSangili Yeah, I know. It's not a mandatory field. I'm just curious about its purpose and couldn't find any documentation on it.

Hi @Michel Kraaij: Please see the property documentation (usage) below.
"At present this is a placeholder for future work were this field would dictate the actual "working" application."

@ArulDevanI noticed that comment indeed. But I think that explanation is outdated, because functionality has already been built on that property. Maybe it's not done yet. That could be. But anyhow, I think proper documentation is simply missing.
