Two APIs for running unittests

Does anyone know why there are multiple APIs for running unittests? There is:

  • /PegaUnit/Rule-Test-Unit-Case/pzExecuteTests

And there is:

  • /pegaunits/execute (combined with /pegaunits/execute/{ID}/results for fetching the results)

I'm curious if there are plans to decommission one or the other. And yes, I am aware that one returns the results right away and the other does not.
