Auto Vacuum initialized in prod

We were running outbound campaign in production on 70 nodes. We observe that certain Pega tables ran into auto vacuum and it was evident that the overall performance of the system slowed down. Kindly suggest DB optimization tips and also confirm if we could switch of auto vacuum from these tables or not ?
