How can we show new unread posts count as a notification on user portal if any new pulse post added by any user

Our requirement is, Currently in our application we have pxFeed with that we are displaying/creating posts in UI as Whats Happening. Now we need notification on UI which should refresh and show the new unread posts count when any new post added or any time they first log in it should show the count of unread posts.
