PEGA with SQL SERVER with 70 million cases approximately

Hi,

Will SQL Server (2016 or before) qualify for a PEGA application SOR (system of record or repository) with 70 million cases (2 million cases open or active at a give time). 

Any one have implemented with SQL server for a large enterprise project with above or similar requirements can share the experience please.
