How to call ajax from Pega

Hi all, we have a requirement to call a Ajax code snippet from Pega and that Ajax code is supposed to return a cookie which we need to save for the entire requestor session. 

could any one let me know how do we call the Ajax code directly from Pega.. is there any function/method that we can use?  

We are using Pega 7.4
