How to encode/decode a property value using Windows-1252 charset
Is there any OOTB function to encode/decode value using windows-1252 charset?
External system is not sending charset in response header so by default it's taking windows-1252 (encode format) . In pega we need to decode the service response for certain attributes which contains latin letters.

seems I don't find any OOTB function so we had to write custom utility function which is more generic to support both encoding and decoding .
function_name(inputstr,,encoderCharset,decoderCharset) .
try {
java.nio.charset.CharsetEncoder encodeCharset = java.nio.charset.Charset.forName(encoderCharset).newEncoder();
java.nio.charset.CharsetDecoder decodeCharset = java.nio.charset.Charset.forName(decoderCharset).newDecoder();
java.nio.ByteBuffer encodedBB = encodeCharset.encode(java.nio.CharBuffer.wrap(inputStr));
java.nio.CharBuffer decodedCB = decodeCharset.decode(encodedBB);
return decodedCB.toString();
} catch (Exception e) {

return inputStr;
}
it can be splitted into two functions for encoder & decoder separately .
