You can use the parse delimited rule in pega to parse the data from the file uploaded by the user and map it to your pagelist property. Firstly, you need to create a parse delimited rule then in the parse rules tab you need to specify the delimiter and escape character to read each data in each cell.Then in the parsing details, you can map it to the page list property by specifying the "Clipboard" in the map value and provide the pagelist property in the map to key field.

If you are using Pega 7.2 you can achieve it by creating functions leveraging Apache POI api(shipped with PEGA 7.2 and above).

But if the requirement is not very complicated from the excel perspective then you can use OOTB MSOParseExcelFile to parse the imported excel.

Keep the ValidateSheet parameter empty or u would need to override the code.

Everyone suggest to use MSOParseExcelFile (hahaha) but that is last thing we do in activity before that there is prerquisite steps you need to configure.

Follow my steps as described as below

1. Create Pagelist Item

      Ex: DataInfo

1. Create excel file(Template) and map the properties as below

     {.pagelist().property input}

    Ex: {.DataInfo().Name input} and follow the same for rest of properties

1. Create a binary file 
2. Upload the created template and check in the binary file
3. Created flow action to upload excel file
4. Use FilePath control to upload a file or use any other ootb options to Upload a file
5. Create Post activity for in flow action where we write logic to generate the pagelist with upload data

    Create step1 where you Call MSOParseExcelFile ootb activity and give parameters as below

       FSFileName: pxRequestor.pyFileUpload

      TemplateRFB: "excel!DataInfo!xlsx" -->excel!templateName!xlsx

      bDeleteFile: true

1. Upload the excel with proper data otherwise its triggeres errors
2. After the submit open the clipboard and check the pagelist with upload data
