Ecrypting DB connection password in context.xml file

Hi All,

We are hosting Pega 7.4 in Tomcat 9 server.

As per the official Pega installation guide it was mentioned as set as below in context.xml file:

username="Base user name"
password="password"

However, this is in plain text and we have to encrypt the DB user password for security purpose.

How can this be achieved? Does Pega have any official guide on how to set this up?

You can generate encrypted passwords for use in the prconfig.xml/context.xml file using a JCE keyring file generated with an algorithm supplied by a site-specific cipher.
