Starting activity to execute on Operator Page

I do understand that it does execute an activity after user is authenticated.

But what is the purpose? Are there things it must do or can I just create a DoNothing activity?

It is required but help system does not explain purpose

Well if you are talking about an SSO activity the answer yes, you need an activity to setup the pages and associated portal correctly.
