is Goal Seek pattern still valid in Pega 8.1 version

I have seen several articles related to the goal seek pattern, trying to recompute the value of a declare expression using the Backward chaining.

Is it still valid with the latest version of Pega 8.1?

What could be such use case?

Yes, goal seek is still a valid usage in Pega 8.1. Here's what the help says about it.
