Reading a Scanned PDF Document using Pega Robotics OCR

Hello, We have a PDF document which contains scanned papers as Images and the constant field in all the document will have Customer ID.But this identifier can be in any page. I'm looking to open the PDF and pass the Customer ID as input which will return the ID value. Can any one help with the above use case. Thanks.

An update to this thread: Document OCR feature within Pega Robotics has been released since version 8.0 SP1 2007. More info in the documentation here: http://help.openspan.com/80/Components/DocumentOCR_Component.htm

As far as I am aware, there is no current ability to read images or scanned PDFs using OCR in Pega Robotics. If it is a structured PDF, then you can try using the connector, but is will not work on scanned PDFs.

The currently available feature in Pega Robotics is called "OCR for screens". It allows to automate an application based on screenshots that are OCR’d to find key words/landmarks for controls.

The OCR for screens provides new methods available on controls … ClickByOCR, GetByOCR, SetByOCR.

This feature is not intended for OCR of scanned images.

A future feature "OCR for Documents" will extend our existing PDF connector with text converted from the image.

Hi 

As suggested i have the latest version with me with the Document OCR component.

i have given an input PDF file and output complete file path with the filename and extension  ( i tried without extension as well ) 

the result is always False and am unable to convert the jpg or pdf to a readable PDF. i have the OCR essentials installed and am not sure what else i am missing.

Any hep will be appreciated.
