Create custom rule type in Pega 7x

Hi,

How to create new rule type or custom rule in Pega 7x. seems like Rule form builder is deprecated in Pega 7. My requirement is to create a new rule type for integration like Connect-SOAP or Connect-MQ. Can any one help on this please.

Hi

You need to use harness to design the ruleform.

Open any of the rule class ( e.g Rule-HTML-Section ) and check out the advanced tab .

Below screenshot will give you details.

Santanu,

Is there more to this above configuration that needs to be done? I checked the RuleForm harness under the Pega OOTB class e.g. Rule-Category ,  I tried saving the harness to a custom class i built; when i do a preview from the two classes of the harness rule ; i get to see different output. The harness preview from the custom class produces a XML representation where as the other view from the OOTB class shows a representation of the rule form.

Can you  help on this?
