I have created an data table. When Im trying to call this data table in a step im getting the error "Error: ** ** An error occured on executing the query for the report definition - There was a problem getting a list: code: 0 SQLState: XX000 Message: ERRO

I have created an data table. When Im trying to call this data table in a step im getting the error "Error: ** ** An error occured on executing the query for the report definition - There was a problem getting a list: code: 0 SQLState: XX000 Message: ERROR: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.pega.pegarules.data.udf.directstreamreader.DirectStreamReaderPostgreSQL". I tried with another data page but still getting the same.

The error seems to suggest that the 'User Defined Functions' (UDFs) aren't available within your PostgreSQLDatabase:

"Error: ** ** An error occured on executing the query for the report definition - There was a problem getting a list: code: 0 SQLState: XX000 Message: ERROR: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.pega.pegarules.data.udf.directstreamreader.DirectStreamReaderPostgreSQL"

Note the UDFs are installed and run on a JVM managed by the Database (rather than the JVM that PRPC is running within); so we need to look there.

Unfortunately I don't know know enough about PostgreSQLin order to provide any specific checks here - perhaps somebody else has the PostgreSQL skills needed here in order to check the state of these UDFs ?

Can you provide more information about your environment here: are you running Pega Express or did you install a full version of PRPC here - and what operating system are you running on ?


This third-party link provides some information about running Java Functions within the PostgreSQL DB , it might be of some help for troubleshooting ?

You can just run the following query in the rule schema to check if the functions are installed or not

select  pr_read_from_stream('pzInsKey',pzInsKey, pzPVStream) as "StringValue",
pr_read_int_from_stream('pzRuleSetVersionMajor', pzInsKey, pzPVStream) as "IntegerValue",
pr_read_decimal_from_stream('pzRuleSetVersionMinor', pzInsKey, pzPVStream) as "DecimalValue"
from pr4_rule
where pxInsID like 'CANNOT%'

I getting the  expected result in pre-prod with the same report definitions but not in dev.

I'm not able to fing out and resolve that error.
