We have exactly the same question... Will have to hard code the column width or use custom sections to view report if we do not find the solution.

In my Report Definition, i want all the text,dates etc to be center alligned.

Can anyone help me how to acheive this?

This can be accomplished by going to the Application Skin and choosing the Trees & Grids component.  From there you can modify and exisiting style or clone one.  To center align the text select the Rows tab and add the Text-Align Center under Additional Styles for both Odd and Even Rows..
