Should I use Deployment Manager as a built-on application?

You should avoid using Deployment Manager as a built on.

please log on to Deployment Manager portal directly with DMReleaseAdmin operator. Please see the Getting started with Deployment Manager guide for a minimal set of step by step instructions to start using Deployment Manager.

An issue you'll frequently encounter if using Deployment Manager as a built on application, is that your auto-matically generated pipeline assets will get stored in a variety of rulesets, rather than the pipeline data ruleset which we intend to be used.
