You should be able to pass the CUIS certification using the information you receive from the UI Specialist (7.1) course.  You can download the Exam BluePrint from PearsonVUE - http://vue.com/pegasystems/cuis_exam_blueprint.pdf.  This will break down the exam, types of questions and distribution of topics.

I am sure the self study material is sufficient to pass this certification.  If you would like to look at additional User Interface related material you could research using the PDN landing page - https://pdn.pega.com/user-interface.  However the exam is generated from the course material.

You should complete all the lessons including all exercises that are part of the course. Since this exam certifies the student as a UI specialist, it has lot of questions specifically around how to do things for specific requirements. If the student has completed all lessons including exercises then they should be able to pass.

Can anyone explain how the above button can be created in Pega 7.x.  I know it can be created using skin rule But which attributes to be updated to form the above button?

Actually there is no image as such. The above colored button is created in Pega using skins. So my question is - which attribute changes made that button look like. Thanks!

Then you have to create an image. As far as I know you need to add the image to your system before you can show it. Maybe there are other ways to create this but then in a combinbation of texts and images (like the chopping kart). Anyhow that questions goes beyond our courses and should better be asked at product forums, not Academy.

Hi,

On your skin you can create a new "button" component (open your skin, component tab, change component to button, clone a button)

Inside the background part of you format choose "image" and you can reference your image.

This is harder to configure but it will be part of your skin.

Basically this is a CUIS question. The question goes like this:

1. Check all that apply for creation of the below button in the skin rule

      i) Use mixins to color the button

      ii) Use image include to include the cart image beside the Text "BUY NOW"

       iii) Include text "BUY NOW" in the skin rule using mixins

       iv) Format the borders using skin rule

       v) Format the text to make it upper case using skin rule

With respect to the question you had asked. The answer is second option. If you had the lessons over there , they would have explained about including the images besides the button image. As soon as you select image source for the  button control as simple image of property, upon selecting the image you want a field called 'Image position' will appear next to the Image source field which has left and right options for the image to be displayed besides the button label. Hope this will satisfy this question. 

You were asking about the attributes right. For the organge color of the button it is as simple like clone the strong format of the button control which is present in the skin to some other name like CustomizedStrong. To have your button label in capitalized you have the first category Text( either you create a customized mix of typograph with capitalized text or select specify styles in which select Transform Text as 'Upper case' and you can refer this format in your section where you drag a button control. Then follow the steps to refer the image besides the button caption( which you specify in the cell properties of the button control in a section)
