Not able to delegate a rule for production edit purpose
Dear Pegaites,
I have a requirement to delegate a decision table rule to be maintained by specific user access group.
I followed the below steps but still the rule I am unable to save in the delegation ruleset and is not appearing in the user portal of that specific group.
1. Created ruleset ABC with application ruleset as a prerequisite and kept is unlocked.
2. Added ABC ruleset under production rulesets of the application.
3. Added ruleset ABC in the Production Rulesets of the specific access group.
4. Tried to save the rule to the ABC ruleset but unable to do. The ruleset ABC is not appearing in the ruleset list in the save as form.
5. Tried to add the rules in favorites and added to other access group. Also tried the Delegate option from the action menu.
Please suggest.

Hi Rushikesh,
1) Have you provided the production ruleset under advanced tab of accessgroup of the user who is trying to do save as.
2) In Rule-Application when opened from the access group, defiintion tab of the application rule in the advanced section you can see below application rulesets where you can provide the production rulesets.
Optional. Enter production RuleSets and Versions specific to this access group. For example, in a production setting, you can identify one RuleSet and Version that remains unlocked and holds only rules expected to be changed often. Such rules may be delegated to management.

Hi Raghunatha,
Thanks for the response. Yes already did all the steps mentioned in your reply but not sure where its getting wrong. Is there anything do with ruleset vs application validation mode for the respective rulesets?
The delegation ruleset ABC is having application ruleset as a prerequisite, application ruleset is using Application validation mode but ABC ruleset is using ruleset validation mode.

Your issue is really the point 4 - "4. Tried to save the rule to the ABC ruleset but unable to do. The ruleset ABC is not appearing in the ruleset list in the save as form."
1. Do you have the ruleset in the application that you have logged into ? If not, the ruleset will not appear in the SAVE AS rule form.
2. In the Class that you try to Save the rule, have you restricted certain RULESETs in the Advanced tab. If not, the ruleset will not appear in the SAVE AS rule form.
3. Do you have access ( In the Inheritance path ) to the Ruleset where the Class you try to save to.

Before delegating a rule or data type, ensure that you meet the following requirements:
- The rule or data type you are delegating is not a checkout.
- The rule you are delegating is not in a Pega ruleset.
- You have the pxCanDelegateRules privilege, which grants you the ability to delegate rules and data types that are visible to users outside of your access group.
- The rules you are delegating are in an unlocked ruleset accessible to end users.

- To delegate a rule, in the Actions menu of the rule form header, click Delegate.
- To delegate a data type, in the Actions menu of the Data Designer, click Delegate.
- Select the appropriate option that denotes how the end user will interact with the delegated rule. The options displayed depend on the rule type being delegated.
- Manage content— For decision tables, users can modify decision tables; for paragraphs, users can modify the content of paragraphs.
- Manage data records— For data types, users can add, modify, or delete data entries for the data type.
- From the Delegate to access group drop-down list, select the access group to which to delegate the rule or data type.
- In the Title field, enter a title for the delegated rule or data type.
- In the Detailed Description field, enter detailed information about the delegated rule or data type. This text is displayed to the user.
You should provided information about how the delegated rule or data type will impact the application. For example, if the end user can add a new row for a data type, explain that doing so results in controls now displaying the newly-added row as a selectable option.
- Click Delegate.
