Need a clarification on Conversion of current Datetime to different Timezones
Hi Team,
My Requirement is to display the current EST timing in front page.
I am using current date library function as below
@(Pega-RULES:DateTime).CurrentDate("MMM dd yyyy hh:mm:ss a", "EST")..
When i am trying to use the above function IST,CST,PST,GMT timings are coming properly. But MST and EST timing are showing 1 hour less than the actual MST EST timings.
Is this pega internal logic mistake or we need to do anything.
Please try to use the above function in sample property default value and help us to resolve immediately

You can also use the longer time zone names seen in smart prompt for the Operator record, e.g., America/New_York. See Help for Operator record. I tried EST5EDT it worked..Could you please explain how for EST and MST things are working like this. Since for GMT,PST,CST,IST timings are coming properly, If we simply give timezone alone.
If i get the internal logic i would be highly grateful to you. Thanks again.

Hi Sundar,
This is because in EST time zone and MST time zone we have Day light Savings time. Something related to Geography for that reason, there remains 1 hour gap for certain period of time in that time zone. To accomodate the same Pega has introduced this.
