How to Get Your Posts Noticed (Step 1: Enhance Your Title)
Have you ever wondered why some posts get quicker responses? Or how come a post that came in after yours has already been marked with a Solution while yours has 0 replies? We know that this can get frustrating. So, what can you do to get that reply you’re looking for?
The first place to start is the Title for your post. Think of your post in the Pega Support Center as your email inbox. If something has a descriptive subject line that is relative to you, you open it. If something doesn’t make sense, you probably send that to your Junk or Trash folder. The same applies with your Support Center posts!
Use a descriptive Title!
Some examples include (taken right out of our very own Support Center):
- Unable to open attachment from link with script
- How do you set a property to a random number?
- How to initialize the filters when we use custom filter selection in a report definition?
As you can see these really tell you what the post will be about and for these examples, they have already all been marked with an Accepted Solution. Some even received it in the first day of posting!
Some best practices for your Title:
- Don’t use only one word
- Use keywords that will help your post be found easily in searches, Community and Google
- Spell check!
- Use proper punctuation. Don’t use all capitals or all lower case.
- Make your title a question
What are you waiting for? When you ask your next Question, make sure that it’s not a post that people will just scroll past! Make your Title open-worthy to get your reply faster!
