It is possible to use embedded properties within a repeating grid provided the embedded property is of the page mode, and not a page list/group mode.

For example:

.Parents() can be configured as the source of the repeating grid layout, and in a cell, you have .Child.FullName.

However, you cannot have the .Child property configured as a page list/group.

Also, the Form Configuration wizard does not allow you to create the above data model. You will need to create it manually through the Application Explorer.

A repeating grid is used to repeat a list of records in a property, so you can list out all the items in a Product List for example:

.ProductList().Type

.ProductList().Cost

However, if you have an embedded page list within a page list, e.g.

.ProductList().Ingredients().Qty

Then you cannot repeat this Ingredients() page list in a repeating grid, because the source doesn't know if it's .ProductList(1).Ingredients() or .ProductList(5).Ingredients()
