Brand impersonation and Pega Community members
Last week we were alerted by several of our Pega Community members that their YouTube videos and/or channels had been taken down due to a copyright strike on the platform. We can confirm that these copyright claims and takedowns were not made or authorized by Pegasystems. With the help of our Community members, we were able to determine the copyright strikes and takedowns were being made by an account claiming to be a Pegasystems employee on LinkedIn and using two different Gmail.com email addresses. We believe this is an act of brand impersonation designed to cause harm to our community, and we take it very seriously. The account in question has been removed from LinkedIn and we are working on removing the Gmail.com accounts. We have filed retractions of the copyright strikes to YouTube directly. These things take time, but we are working with our Community members to offer them the support we can. If you have been impacted by these copyright claims and takedowns, we ask that you reach out to us so we can help resolve this. Please report it the Pega Community Team.
We highly value the contributions of our Pega Community, encourage them to create good content, and see them as a vital part of our success. We want our Community members to be advocates for Pega and share their knowledge both within our Community and in other channels. You are key to our growth and success! Within the Pega Community, you can share best practices and participate in discussions on our forum, or utilize our Content Contributor Program to submit blog posts and Academy Training content. If you want to create and post content on your own channel, we ask that you follow the Pega Trademark and Copyright Guidelines.
We send our support to anyone that was impacted by the recent fraudulent copyright claims and takedowns and hope this doesn’t deter you from continuing to post and consume great Pega content!
Thanks,
The Pega Team
