Pega is no longer developing the Autonomic Event Services (AES) product. Version 8.3.1, running on Pega platform version 8.3, is the last version released for this product. The recommended migration path for remaining AES clients is to switch to Pega Predictive Diagnostic Cloud (PDC) SaaS solution.
PDC will always be better software, with better support, at a better price:
Better software
PDC receives weekly enhancements and updates. For more information, see What's new in Pega Predictive Diagnostic Cloud. Development efforts are focused on improving PDC. AES was last updated in April 2020.
Better support
A dedicated PDC team maintains and fixes problems in the PDC service. Global Client Support engineers and the Customer Success team can access your instance of PDC (unless you have specified that this access is restricted) to help you understand any application and environment issues that PDC has identified.
Better price
PDC is free. There is no license to pay for, and you do not have to maintain and pay for infrastructure (Java, database, application server), or data center chargebacks for servers. Unlike AES, there is also no need for additional staff to install and maintain PDC.
PDC can be used by all Pega platform clients regardless of their deployment type e.g. Pega Cloud, Client-managed cloud, or on-Premises. PDC comes preconfigured and is a part of your Pega Platform package. You can access your PDC instance if you have a Pega Community account. For more information, see How to start using PDC.
