The sixth Pega 8.4 Platform patch release is now available - Pega 8.4.6!
Pega 8.4.6 is available on the Digital Software Delivery portal and via PegaCloud.
8.4.6 is the final patch within the 8.4.x release stream and has now entered extended support.
Issues which were resolved in the Pega 8.4.6 Patch Release can be found here.
Please note that patch releases are cumulative. Pega 8.4.6 includes all fixes made in previous Pega Infinity patch releases. Pega 8.4.6 is the highest quality 8.4.x version available!
Background:
In 2018, with the release of Pega 8.1, we announced our shift from hotfixes to Patch Releases. The patch release program approach allows us to bundle, test, & release bug and security fixes over a given period into a cumulative patch that will be made available to all clients. This new process provides value to your business through improved overall quality and better dependency management. Look for a new cumulative patch release to be made available every month.
@JustinP We are currently in 8.4.0 version and wanted to migrate to 8.4.6 latest patch. We were successful in updating it sandbox environment and seems to be most of the application seems to work as is.
We are doing inplace uplift with having application down time, no (high availability). We just took DB backup before running the DB patch.bat.
But I have couple of queries
1. If I want to revert back from 8.4.6 to 8.4.0 version for some reason(say corner case functionality break/some thing major functionality break). Is there any option that PEGA has internally? Or we just need to revert to the earlier DB backup taken?
2. And I believe while upgrading there is no separate jar packages that we get as delta from 8.4.0 to 8.4.6? I believe we have to rerun the complte 8.4.6 package with just the generating the new ddl's and running the patch.bat --> which internally calls the upgrade.bat.
